Flight Arrivals at Linate Airport

Italy's second largest city, after Rome, has three airports. Milan Linate Airport serves the Lombardy and rest of Northern Italy. Only 4 miles or 7 km distance from the city center, Linate Airport is the country's fifth busiest in terms of passenger numbers. In 2018 Linate Airport handled 9,233,475 passengers. Alitalia, Italy's flagship airline, uses Linate Airport as a hub. The airport is located in Segrate, which is linked to the city via coach and airport shuttles buses as well as suburban trains. Mainline trains leave from several different train stations in Milan to all parts of the country and even across the border into Switzerland.

Passengers arrive at a single terminal building which features three floors. Its ground level contains check-in and security zones and departure gate areas for bus-boarding. There is a separate baggage reclaim and Arrivals zone too.

Travelers arriving from domestic and EU destinations will find bars, cafes and restaurants on the ground level as well as the first floor. The third floor is occupied by offices. Car-rental companies have their stations in the Arrivals hall.

Banking, VAT Refunds & Currency Exchange

Currency Exchange and VAT Refunds offices are available on the ground floor in Arrivals, where they are open daily from 08.00 to 22.00.

A branch of Banca Popolare di Milano is open on the ground floor from Mondays to Fridays from 08.30 to 13.30 and from 14.45 to 15.45, and there is also an ATM for cash transactions. Another ATM is provided on this level by Deutsche Bank; it is located near the Information Point on the ground floor.

EURONET is available in the baggage reclaim area and in the main Arrivals zone. Poste Italiane also has a branch in the Arrivals hall; it opens from Mondays to Fridays from 08.25 to 13.35 and on Saturdays from 08.25 to 12.35. There's also an ATM from Poste Italiane in Linate Airport Arrivals.

Train & Bus Ticket Sales Offices at Linate Airport

An Autostradale ticket office is located on the ground level in the main Arrivals zone. It is open daily from 07.30 to 16.00. Another office is open in Baggage Reclaim. This is open daily from 08.00 to 19.00.

Bus Line 73 runs between Linate Airport and central Milan. During Milan Trade Fair days some buses only run between the airport and Rho Fiera. There are also coaches to Pavia, Monza, Malpensa Airport and many major cities of the Lombardy region. Please see, and for timetable and prices, or stay on this website to learn more. The bus journey takes ca 25 minutes. Tickets cost between 8.00 and 10.00 euros one-way, depending on the route taken to Milan or Rho Fiera.

Flixbus also covers several destinations in Northern Italy ( The cost of travelling is around 8.00 to 10.00 euros (one-way) between Linate Airport and central Milan and Linate Airport and Rho Fiera Trade Fair Ground with airport shuttles.

Suburban train lines S5 and S6 cover the distance between Varese and Treviglio, and Novara/Pioltello-Treviglio, both of which include Segrate, from where airport shuttles link the train station with Linate Airport's terminal.

Taxi Transfers from Linate Airport

The taxi ranks at Linate Airport are located on the ground floor, at exit 5. Fares to and from Linate Airport/Milan center are fixed. Private taxi transfers from Linate Airport to Rho Fiera, Milan's trade fair ground, costs 55.00 euros for up to three people sharing a taxi. Other Passenger Services at Linate Airport

On the ground level passengers with health issues will find a Pharmashop vending machine in the Arrivals area, just outside the terminal. A Pharmacy is also open daily from 08.00 to 20.30. For more serious health issues, there is an emergency/First Aid team; it is located on the ground floor, in the external Arrivals area.

A chapel on the First Floor, in Departures/Check-in, the Groups Area, offers passengers a spiritual retreat.

Free WiFi Connectivity at Linate Airport
